Candace Owens is one of my favorite political commentators. For the longest time, I refused to listen to her podcasts, insta lives, and to read her book because I fell prey to what many of us often do, the mainstream media’s portrayal and over-stereotypical coverage of her perspective. After spending a fair amount of time reading her book and listening to her comments, I realized just how intelligent and what an awesome leader Candace Owens has become, and I’m excited to learn and talk more about her!
After reading this article by Kay C. James that expresses the lack of conservative women in Women’s History Month, I was inspired to create my own list! And of course, ever inspired by Mallory and listening to the ‘Those Other Girls’ Podcast, the name ‘Those Other Women’s History Month’ came to me! Excited to partner with TOG on this awesome profile series on inspirational conservative women!

"I like to say now that the reason I’m conservative is because I used to be a liberal, and I learned a lot." -Candace Owens
Candace Owens is a powerful presence in the conservative movement, and she is best known as an author, political commentator, and activist! She was born in 1989, and she was brought up by her grandparents in Connecticut. She studied journalism at the University of Rhode Island. From there, she worked for Vogue and a private equity firm before joining the conservative movement.
Eventually, in 2017 she worked for Turning Point USA, a conservative activism group, and then started appearing on conservative news outlets such as Fox News as a political commentator. She founded a Blexit foundation, urging African Americans to leave the Democratic Party, she hosts a show on Prager U, and she has just started her own show on the Daily Wire. Apart from that, she also wrote and published a book called Blackout, that was among the New York Times bestsellers for a long while.
Many have called Owens one of the most influential conservative commentators and influencers of our time. In 2019, she got married, and by 2021, she gave birth to her son. Owens is another awesome example of a free-thinker and someone who goes against the grain in an intelligent and witty way. She is both a mother and a hard-working, inspirational movement leader. She challenges our generation to think critically. Candace Owens is COOL!
"The media has done a really good job of creating a caricature of Candace Owens; I’m always on the defense, I’m angry, I’m upset, and that couldn’t be further from the truth. I’m a wife, a mother, a friend, a sister, and that has been stripped away in this age of media propaganda and building people as either good guys or bad guys. People that work with me are always so surprised that I have a sense of humor." -Candace Owens
